The New York City fetish scene is alive and spanking, and the pulse was felt this weekend with the arrival of the NYC Fetish Marathon! This four day BDSM/fetish extravaganza took place in the greatest city in the world from June 1st through the 4th 2006. I was there to cover the two largest events which were sponsored by the wonderful people at FetishMovies.com, without whom these events could never have been as spectacular as they were.
The Black & Blue Ball was created in 1994 by Leda and Carrie of Arena Studios. This marks the 13th anniversary of this worthy charity event, and over the past decade it has become one of the most anticipated events in New York City and one of the top fetish events in the world. With premium, cutting edge, live entertainment including performance art, music, fashion, visual art, and varying combinations there of - people travel from across the globe to participate as well as attend.
Empress Chi Chi Valenti was our emcee for the evening, joined by special guest stars Penthouse Pets Victoria Zdrok and Krysta Ayne (who were kind enough to give this lucky photographer an exclusive mini-photo shoot!) What fetish party would be complete without a fashion show of the latest kinky wear? This year, Nicole Moan and Veritee Hill debuted their new designs, which thrilled the receptive audience. Sleek latex adorned each gorgeous model as they brought their best to the main stage before joining the previous ladies to watch a hypnotic performance by the always fierce Aprella, with Angela Ryan as her willing puppet.
Mistress Syren and the ladies of The Den of Iniquity were on hand in the spacious Spider Dungeon to keep the evening's demand for kinky play sated. There was plenty of perversion taking place in this room, but cameras weren't allowed so you'll have to rely on my descriptions. I saw plenty of bare asses turning crimson with the force of the Mistress' or Master's firm hand or paddle. The agony and the ecstasy of their moaning could be heard even over the pounding rhythm of music that permeated the house.
Throughout the evening, we indulged in performances by a bevy of dominatrices including Marilyn of Chicago, Mimi Divine, Sarah Murphy, Aprella, Andrew Hampsas and Lady Seika, Venus, Violet Sweet, Julie Atlas Muz, Little Brooklyn, Tyler Fyre, Mistress HarleQuinn and Mistress Yin. In one scene, a seductive quartet of corseted Dommes played wicked havoc in the dreams of Goddess Marilyn as they taunted and teased her on stage. The crowd too, made a spectacular effort to dress the part. The theme this year was Evolution, or as Carrie and Leda say, "This is the year to take your look and experience to the next level. Celebrate the evolution of BDSM by catering to your regressive genes or mutating into a new night being altogether." Overall, this Black & Blue Ball will be a difficult party to top, but I'm sure that our kinky friends will continue to evolve and morph into even more perverse players to come up with something just as memorable next year!
Saturday night was the SMack! party, which has been a fetish staple for 10 years! There were two main stages at SMack! this year, so it was impossible for me to catch all of the performances. My good friend Wolf of The Royal Castle suggested that he & I split up the room, so I stayed on the second floor while he covered the first.
The stage on the second floor played host to a number of fetish fashion shows including the latest in latex by Vex and Jane Doe. Sprinkled between the fashion shows were some terrific performances, starting with a birthday surprise of cake-covered strap-on play and ending with a psychotic sexy doll brought to live by a twisted, perverted nun!
